GSCPA Member Interest Sections

Looking for new ideas in your professional practice area? Interested in finding out what is working and not working with others in a similar practice area? Then it is time to sign up for one or more of the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) member interest sections.
These member interest sections give members the opportunity to participate with CPAs who share like interests in a common practice area without regard to time and distance barriers. Sections are member communities that exist online and in a peer to peer environment. How much does it cost?
Section membership is complimentary with your Society membership.
How many can I join?
GSCPA members may belong to as many sections as they choose.
What is the time requirement?
There is no time requirement. Members can get as involved as they want or utilize sections as a resource.
Assurance Services Section
The Assurance Services Section is for members involved in auditing and assurance services. This Section works to address a wide variety of current issues facing the accounting profession while improving the skills and broadening the expertise of accountants who perform assurance services. The Section provides opportunities for networking, learning, and interaction, including the annual Spring Government Workshop, the Accounting Institute, Governmental A & A Conference, and other educational programming.

For members involved in all areas of industry. This Section serves as a resource for members who serve in many different capacities such as CFOs, CEOs, consultants, and industry CPAs. The group communicates the value of the CPA in the business community and offers numerous opportunities for networking, learning, and interaction, including the Spring Decision Makers and Fall Decision Makers conferences, Lunch and Learn series, and other events held throughout the year.

For members active in all areas of taxation. This Section maintains a program of cooperation with the Georgia Department of Revenue, the IRS, and the Federal Tax Committee of the AICPA. The group submits recommendations for changes in tax laws and keeps the membership informed of significant tax changes and their implications. The Section provides numerous opportunities for networking, learning, and interaction, including the Atlanta and Savannah Tax Forums, an annual survey on federal and state tax issues, and regular meetings with the IRS and Georgia Department of Revenue.
