Kate's Club
Kate's Club is seeking an additional CPA to join the Board of Directors. Kate's Club is an Atlanta-based 501 (c) 3 organization whose mission is to empower children and teens facing life after the death of a parent or sibling. We provide social and emotional grief support services to children ages 5 to 18 in metropolitan Atlanta. By creating friendships with kids that share the experience, Kate’s Club guides children through their grief journey in a comfortable, safe, and uplifting setting that empowers children. Kate's Club is seeking CPAs with a passion for our mission who have demonstrated strong leadership skills and a desire to serve their community. Kate's Club Board members are elected for renewable two-year terms and are required to actively participate in Board & Committee meetings in addition to making a personal financial contribution. United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta Review Volunteer
The role of the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta Financial Review Volunteer is to ensure grantee financial accountability through review and analysis of audited and un-audited financial statements, 990 and agency budget. The Financial Review Committee ensures that agencies that request funding from United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta are financially sound enough to receive funds and utilize them to provide services in the community. The total time commitment for this volunteer opportunity is 7 hours. Financial Review volunteers are asked to attend 1 ½ hour training, review 4 agencies (1hour for each review) 4 hours and 1 ½ Wrap-Up. There is a need for CPAs or Financial Analysts to volunteer to participate in upcoming review cycles. Back 2 Basics Kids Foundation
Back 2 Basics Kids Foundation is seeking potentially qualified board members for the 2009-10 year. Our quickly expanding organization would like to consider members of the GSCPA to apply. The mission of B2B Kids Foundation is to provide inner city youth the opportunity to explore the culture and world of basketball as a means to develop health & fitness awareness, team work, life skills and expression. We are a grass roots organization committed to making difference in the lives of at-risk children by "Pumping life into today's youth one shot at a time". Our year long programs provide opportunities for children ages 6 to 17, while helping them to increase their self-esteem, develop their athletic and sportsmanship abilities, and cultivate positive life skills. ACTODAY Foundation, Inc.
ACTODAY Foundation, Inc. is a 501c3 public charitable non-profit organization committed to economic and community development by Actively Contributing To Our Dynamic Amazing Youth. Our mission is to aid in the development of underprivileged and marginalized youth and to pursue solutions to the underlying causes of poverty through education and empowerment of communities globally to affect change in five socioeconomic areas: healthcare, government, business, education and family. We believe that through critical thinking, tolerance and diversity training, our youth can transcend the barriers of societal and self-impaired degradation.
Our request is for a CPA (preferably one with experience working with non-profits) to organize, file and audit our 990 Tax returns. We have not generated a great deal of revenue yet and we have not yet produced very high budgets so the process will be fairly simple and straight forward. We just want everything done correctly and by a certified licensed professional. We also want to make sure that we are exercising all of the practices that make our book keeping most efficient and sustainable for years to come.
